WELCOME TO THE 2014-15 SCHOOL YEAR!
We hope you had a fabulous summer. All parents and guardians of PS/IS 187 students are automatically members of the PTA. Welcome!
We look forward to sharing another wonderful year with you. Plans are already underway for Movie Nights, School-a-Palooza, The Holiday Tree Sale, The Second Annual Student Film Festival, and more.
We thank the countless volunteers who put in thousands of hours to make all of last year's events successful. As we gear up to increase our volunteer corps in 2014-15, stay tuned for the "It Takes A Village" public service announcement campaign. The PTA Executive Board thanks Michael Bridenstine, dad of 2nd grader and creative force/producer behind the project. Parent volunteer efforts contribute to our school's culture and strength of community, and we encourage all parents to find their be- the-change-you-wish-to-see moment. Our motto: If everybody does a little, nobody does a lot. Please fill out the volunteer E-Questionnaire today HERE to let us know how you would like to help.
Last but certainly not least, we thank our entire community of parents, alumni, local businesses, and neighbors who have so generously supported all our fundraisers. Your donations are inspiring, and it helps us provide great things for our children.
So let's hear it for 187 Hudson Cliffs Blue and Gold Pride!
Time to roll up our sleeves and do great things,

FIND ARTS @187--OUR NEW FINE ARTS CLUB!
We thank Alexis Pia Gerlach for her cello performance on Friday, June 6! Attendees had an opportunity to hear a gorgeous and very famous six part Suite for Cello Solo No. 1 by J.S. Bach followed by a movement exercise on stage (per Dalcroze Dalcroze approach to music education) so kids and parents alike could truly feel the music. It was a lovely event brought to us by a new club, Find Arts @187, a fine arts club which is the brain child of Ivana Jovic. We look forward to more events next year! Thank you!
FIRST EVER FILM FESTIVAL--A GRAND SUCCESS!
